Programmatic Automated Mode document creation via web services.
Interactive User Driven Mode document creation from the desktop.
Snippets
ActiveDocs Opus Snippets are template fragments designed for encapsulating standard content with or without ActiveDocs Opus technology. The power of Snippets lies in their re-usability across multiple documents, enabling your standard content to be used even further in your enterprise.
Snippets may be used for regulatory information, standard terms and conditions, standard letter parts, and any other common content across the enterprise.
ActiveDocs Opus Templates use Snippet Links to link to Snippets. With ActiveDocs Opus on the desktop, the Microsoft Office Research Pane uses the same Snippets - so your standard common content is available in all modes, and, from the desktop, in Microsoft® Word, Microsoft® Excel®, Microsoft® Outlook®, and Microsoft® PowerPoint® documents.
Any changes to a Snippet are available immediately when the Research Pane, or Template, is next used. The Publishing capabilities of the ActiveDocs Opus Version Control module add further flexibility.
The Research function works with both static-content and Active-content Snippets, invoking the ActiveDocs Opus Document Wizard to help users complete the content of Active Snippets.
Refresh
Document content created with Snippets can be designated as Refreshable. Documents created using this feature have Refreshable Regions generated from Refreshable Snippet Links.
The Refresh feature of the ActiveDocs Opus Client allows Refreshable Regions to be refreshed when the user opens the document, so that the latest version of the applicable Snippets can be used to refresh those parts of the document.
The Refresh function works with Active Snippets as well, invoking the ActiveDocs Opus Document Wizard to help users complete the content of Active Snippets.
Update
ActiveDocs Opus allows users to open their documents directly from the ActiveDocs Opus Document Repository via the ActiveDocs Opus Express Wizard's browser interface.
The Update function of the ActiveDocs Opus Client allows the user to save any changes made to their Word documents back to the ActiveDocs Opus Document Repository.
Pricing
ActiveDocs Opus on the desktop with Microsoft Office offers exceptional value at US$1,999.00 as a standalone solution.
Alternatively, the Client functionality is free of charge when deployed as part of a server-based User-Driven implementation (ActiveDocs Opus Express Wizard Named User CALs).
